About the role:

 

To deliver stakeholder engagement activities that help ensure the company’s meets its strategic objectives.

 

  • Monitor, analyse and communicate intelligence on legislative, policy and political developments.
  • In partnership with business units, prepare carefully-targeted engagement plans to advance the company’s position. Research and develop accurate, insightful and persuasive briefing and other materials for internal and external use.
  • Deliver these engagement plans through a programme of meetings, briefings and other opportunities, including organising events.
  • Develop strong relationships with influential stakeholders, improving the company’s reputation and its ability to influence policy and legislation. Represent the company in discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve stakeholder queries, including enquiries from MPs. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues across the business, acting as an advocate for stakeholders’ interests.

 

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills essential, and a readiness and ability to challenge accepted views. Ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from different disciplines and at all levels.
  • Conscientious and proactive. Well organised with close attention to detail.  Ability to balance a variety of competing deadlines and demands.
  • Strong understanding of the company, its operations and its priorities, and the ability to articulate them simply and effectively.
  • Excellent understanding of the environment in which the company operates.
  • Significant experience of engagement with external opinion formers (or in a relevant communications role), and the ability to advise others in the business on how to engage, where necessary, with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and Outlook preferred.
