About the role:

This is a 10-12 month FTC Contract.

This is a key role supporting the Financial Controller function for Operations and will provide an important link for Financial Reporting and control within the FC team in addition to supporting the Group Finance function.

Financial Reporting

  • Responsible for maintaining the Operations monthly financial reporting tool for key deadlines, including the coordination and review of inputs.
  • Development of the monthly financial reporting tool for forecasting.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager in planning for and co-ordinating forecasts and budgeting.
  • Liaising with Group Reporting to ensure corporate reporting requirements are understood and met.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across Ops Finance and Group Finance.
  • Other Adhoc reporting requirements.

Management Accounting

  • Maintaining the management accounts for centrally held costs within Operations, including budgeting and forecasting requirements.

Financial Control

  • Responsibility for balance sheet reconciliation compliance reviews on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Balance sheet audits in preparation for year-end.
  • Oversee the development and management of balance sheet controls, working closely with Group Financial Reporting.
  • Development & completion of the Operations Finance BS glossary.
  • Development & completion of P&L GL glossary.
  • Development & compilation of Operations Finance process notes & controls

Training & Development

  • Provision of periodic training for periodic policy & compliance to the Operations Finance Team as and when required.

Finance Change

  • Coordinate the analysis and review of all key accounting processes within Ops Finance with the aim of improving efficiency, sharing best practice and standardising processes. Key areas will include:-
    • Balance sheet reconciliations and usage with particular attention paid to provisions, accruals and stock.
    • Management of accounting practice
    • P2P process
    • Cashflow & working capital management

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

This role requires you to apply your skills in accounting and process improvement to the Operations Finance team.

This is a unique opportunity involving the development of relationships with the various operational business units and Group Finance, engaging with the business to add value whilst developing the role and enhancing your skills.

This role requires a flexible mindset and good communication skills as you will be required to engage with colleagues throughout the business on a wide range of topics. In addition, you should be a qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA or equivalent) with strong analytical skills and good understanding of process improvement.

You will also have experience of Hyperion Financial Management and SAP, with experience in Power BI being an advantage.
