About the role:

The Project Coordinator is accountable for working closely with the Programme teams to assure project financial data,  produce clear programme performance packs and be the administrative and technical expert in the Programme Management tools and software.

The role holder is supporting the Results Delivery Office with the successful delivery of the Cost Transformation Programme. This is a company-wide programme focused on the delivery of financial benefits across the business. The role holder will work in a matrix structure and is accountable to the Governance Lead for all programme related activities and deliverables.

The role holder will be responsible for the production of performance packs that support the heartbeat of the Cost Transformation Programme. They will also support embedding an enduring capability so that continued cost savings continue long after the programme has concluded.

The role holder will be meticulous with all data preparatory activities to ensure accurate information is provided within all programme performance reports which inform programme governance meetings.

The role holder will engage with all levels of management, and effectively collaborate and engage with key stakeholders from different parts of the business, external partners and across different professional disciplines, so effective communication skills are key.

This is an important new role in Thames Water. A strong focus on quality, rigour, and a high level of attention to detail are key characteristics of a successful role holder. Self-motivation, drive and pragmatism are critical. Experience with elements of project management and project management methodologies is desirable.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure high-quality professional reporting on programme progress
  • Creates meaningful and clear information that can be acted on
  • Custodian of Cost Transformation programme management information
  • The administrator of Cost Transformation programme Management benefits tools and software
  • Validation of data outputs from tools
  • Implement essential governance procedures for change, risk and issues
  • Acts as a central project resource, supporting the governance lead and programme manager and working with all programme team members
  • Understands the information need of the stakeholders and ensures accurate reporting on key project metrics
  • Works with all Thames Water teams to ensure benefits are captured and delivered in line with what our board members and operational colleagues would expect to see from a world-class organisation

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experienced in Excel to an intermediate level, with strong analytical skills
  • Previous experience with, and knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of and experience with essential project management and governance procedures
  • Prior experience as a project coordinator
  • Excellent team player and communication skills
  • Experience with Stakeholder management
  • Experience in Project Planning tools e.g. Microsoft Project or similar
