About the role:

You will be required to manage and maintain our sewer network whilst helping to resolve customer issues and ongoing works. You will be overseeing our contractors daily and working alongside them to resolve defects on our network and any customer issues. This is a Field Based Role so you will be expected to travel and work anywhere within Thames Valley area. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Taking personal ownership of customer issues i.e. responding to queries and complaints and resolving issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards during repairs.
  • Acting as local network expert providing information for risk assessments and sharing information regarding network risks and other health and safety issues.
  • Attending meetings with external stakeholders to discuss planned works and how best Thames Water can support these.
  • Supporting the Field Operations Specialist on high level customer complaints such as internal flooding & pollutions to ensure agreed approach is delivered.
  • Supervising contractors to ensure that they are adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Working in compliance with company procedures including operational standards, health and safety and Streetworks legislation.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • We are looking for someone with proven experience in an engineering & fault-finding role however this is not essential.
  • As you will be spending time dealing with contractors and customers, you need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You will need to be IT literate and be able to demonstrate a proactive approach with problem solving skills.
  • It is essential that you are flexible in your approach to work and work deal effectively should an event occur in the field.
  • A clean driving licence is essential.
