About the role:

The Sewer Flooding Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Senior Flooding Coordinator.  The main function of the role is a collation of data to produce a Sewer Flooding Investigation Report, confirm the mechanism of flooding and advise on the type of solutions required. It is a key role within the Sewer Flooding process and is required to meet the regulatory requirements for the business. The role will also involve assessing sewer defects to see whether they constitute regulatory collapses.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Take accountability for the completion of the Sewer Flooding Investigation report within the process timeline, ensuring the report is accurate and meets the required quality standards.
  • Assist field services to complete their elements of the Sewer Flooding investigation report within the appropriate timeline by providing them with relevant information relating to the sewer flooding incident, this will help them to ensure their closure submission meets the quality and accuracy requirements
  • Utilise all corporate systems to review customer history to determine the frequency of flooding/blockages to recommend the appropriate course of action to provide a resolution. Ensure that the Sewer Flooding History database is updated in a timely manner.
  • Review all Sewer Flooding questionnaires, verifying incidents of flooding and escalate repeat issues as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and manage the flooding process after severe weather events.
  • Complete audits on sewer flooding process and data to ensure we are correctly reporting outputs to our regulators.
  • Desktop analysis of sewer flooding reactive jobs to verify key aspects of the incident such as when and where flooding occurred, ownership of the sewer and root cause
  • Encouraging good relationships with our stakeholders and having a regular catch up meetings with our Contractors to discuss process, performance and identify any need for training.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of learning and training based on audit findings.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Good knowledge of wastewater networks and drainage legislation.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Desirable but not essential - Basic knowledge of the regulatory and legislative aspects of the water industry
  • Good analytical, problem solving, reasoning and negotiating skills
