About the role:

This role is at the forefront of how we review and respond to environmental data. As the Environmental Data Technician, you will be working to continuously improve our data by understanding our quality management processes and supporting technical experts in the team. You will work within the wider Environmental Assurance team to provide data, reports and insight into performance.

This role is critical to the success of providing accurate environmental data and insight to operational performance. This will allow Thames Water to continuously improve our performance by providing accurate data into business planning process and ultimately improving the natural environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responding to Environmental Information Requests (EIRs) and Pollution Information Requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensuring key internal stakeholders are involved in reviewing environmental data.
  • Support in providing data for regulatory submissions.
  • Providing data and insight for internal reporting on flow and effluent quality.
  • Development of reports into Environmental Management System performance.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: 

  • Previous experience of working with environmental data, preferably flow and effluent quality data.
  • Previous experience of working with data, developing regular reports, and assisting in preparing regulatory submissions would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working within a quality management system.
  • The ability to work well in a team and with operational colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in the use of software packages (MS Office & Excel, PowerBI).
