What you’ll be doing

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Health & Safety Advisor, the purpose of the role will be to provide professional Safety, Health & Wellbeing,  (SH&W) advice to management and employees, as well as deliver the SH&W strategy, ensuring compliance with the SH&W management system, standards, processes, and procedures.

We’re looking for you to

  • Lead and undertake audits/inspections and incident investigations and agree on an action plan with the site management. There will be a requirement to report statistical information as required
  • Advise stakeholders and support our service staff, partners, and contractors on Safety, Health, and well-being matters ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and industry best practice by liaising with enforcing authorities and professional groups, which also includes supporting with design, pre-start meetings, and performance discussions
  • Build trusted relationships to ensure you are raising awareness in the business and deliver training in line with the annual training plan outside of core H&S team training
  • Lead the review of safe systems at work and risk assessments where there is a significant risk to health, safety, and the environment
  • As a minimum, you will be required to hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent or working towards
  • You will be expected to travel across the Thames Water catchment area and therefore you must hold a full, clean UK driving license and own your own vehicle; in return, you will receive a car allowance
