About the role:
Reporting to the Water Strategy Manager, as the Strategy Lead, you will lead the development and implementation of a Strategic Asset Management Plan, which is a key deliverable of the London Water Network Conditional Allowance Programme. The Strategic Asset Management Plan sets out how we manage our assets to ensure we achieve our objectives including:
  • the expected levels of performance in specific areas.
  • how these will be achieved.
  • how the optimum asset interventions will be established and key accountabilities.
You will be responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining key asset class intervention methodologies and developing long-term investment strategies.
 
You will be influential in supporting the delivery of the programme working towards ISO55001 accreditation and direct the development and implementation of a continuous improvement plan for the asset management system. Accountable for programme reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, this role gives you the opportunity to get involved in engagement and close partnership with several senior stakeholders across the business.
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop and deliver the Strategic Asset Management plan to meet Ofwat's criteria.
  • Lead and manage one team member.
  • Own the development and document Water Asset Strategies/Long term asset plans.
  • Contribute to Asset Management system development.
  • Document and develop key investment methodologies/processes.
  • Support ISO55001 audits in accordance with the audit programme.
  • Develop a continuous improvement plan for Asset Management.
  • Support the wider Asset Management community in identifying gaps, working collaboratively to continuously improve and develop.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Educated to degree level with further professional/management qualifications or outstanding role-specific experience.
  • Previous knowledge of ISO/Quality Management.
  • Strategic long-term thinker.
  • Previous knowledge of developing and implementing an asset management strategy/working towards ISO certification is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Asset Management.
  • Prior knowledge of water investment planning is beneficial.
  • Excellent management and communication skills.
  • Experienced in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Self-starting, resilient and tenacious under pressure.
  • A great team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a challenging environment, who is fully adept at using the appropriate company IT systems.
  • A balanced, realistic approach to pressure, always maintains a positive outlook in front of others.
