About the role:

Reporting to the Water Strategy Manager, as the Strategy Planning Lead, you will lead the development, documentation, and maintenance of key asset intervention decision-making methodologies. Working with various teams in Asset Management, you will be responsible for producing Asset Plans, detailing proposed interventions across the Thames Water network.

You will be instrumental in the delivery of the London Water Network Improvement Conditional Allowance and the development and maintenance of long-term asset strategies.

Responsible for programme reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, this role gives you the opportunity to get involved in engagement and close collaboration with several senior stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and deliver the key investment methodologies and processes.
  • Lead and manage one team member.
  • Own the development and document Water Asset Strategies/Long term asset plans.
  • Support the delivery of London Water Network Improvement Conditional Allowance.
  • Programme Reporting.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: 

  • Educated to degree level with further professional/management qualifications or outstanding role-specific experience.
  • Strategic long-term thinker.
  • Working knowledge of Asset Management.
  • Prior experience of water investment planning is desirable.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Experienced in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Self-starting, resilient and tenacious under pressure.
  • A great team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a challenging environment, who is fully competent at using the appropriate company IT systems.
  • A balanced, realistic approach to pressure, always maintains a positive outlook in front of others.
