About the role:

We’re looking for a high calibre Project Manager to join the Performance and Risk Team to deliver projects Water Networks.  You will be responsible for implementing and embedding improvement projects and initiatives to deliver measurable and sustainable efficiencies across the whole of Water Networks. Furthermore, you will use your inquisitive and ingenuity nature to identify further improvement projects, largely to reduce the cost to serve.

You will be managing a portfolio of projects through the entire project lifecycle from outline conception through design, delivery, and handover. As Project Manager, you will be the main point of contact for external customers, project team members and internal stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • You will develop on a well-established portfolio of over £10m of cost efficiency projects, to expand a defined methodology of cost efficiency in Water Networks into new workstreams, where you will identify and implement the areas of growth
  • Excellent communications with strong interpersonal skills are essential alongside the ability to influence high level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify the root cause(s) using root cause analysis and develop data-led solutions from this
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise conflicting requirements
  • Accountable for the maintenance of all project governance documentation in support of effective project delivery and implementation as well as any potential audits.
  • Responsible for the provision of appropriate reporting and tracking of programme performance against milestone plans, delivery outputs and any relevant KPIs, ODI or other established success criteria.
  • Management of multiple stakeholders, developing sustainable, long-lasting relationships across all areas of the internal business and across supply interruptions.
  • You will be flexible and adaptable within the role

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Self-motivation, drive and pragmatism are critical, as is a proven track record of successful delivery of projects. 
  • We are seeking a tenacious and resilient individual with the ability to work with confidence in a challenging, reactive environment.  We are looking for a candidate with an innovative and proactive approach to problem-solving with a track record of delivering people, process and technology change projects.
  • You will be comfortable adapting your communication style to delivery teams as well as more corporate senior stakeholders, and you will display demonstrable experience of this.
  • The ability to balance operational demand and strategic thinking is vital to ensure so you will be able to influence decisions to help shape what we do every day and in terms of planning for the future.  Due to the nature of this role, you are required to have a valid full driving licence
