About the role: 

We are currently Have an exciting opportunity for a Field Operations Specialist As a successful candidate your role will be to carry out field investigations into complex operational problems with our wastewater network, identifying solutions to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction. This is within a defined geographical area of the Thames Valley.  You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of repairs and maintenance working closely with our third-party contractors to deliver a programme of field activity. You will be the waste network expert within your local region, ensuring that a high delivery of customer service and network performance is delivered. You will be the main point of contact for any emergency works required in your area and will be responsible for ensuring that contractors are working safely and in compliance with business procedures.

This role will require you to be based 40% of the time in the field, and 60% of the time in the office so someone with experience in both areas is essential.

Key accountabilities:

  • Coordinating complex planned and reactive technical activities to ensure maximum effectiveness and minimal customer impact.
  • Plan and collaborate with our delivery partners to deliver asset maintenance activity.
  • Provide technical support to determine solutions to problems and ensure a robust, stable and efficient network.
  • Deliver on event crisis management plans, minimising service interruptions and impact on Thames water customers.
  • Work alongside the field teams and customer solution centre to determine the cause of complex/difficult problems and find a suitable resolution.
  • Contractor auditing ensuring that all works are being completed to the Thames Water standards and in line with compliance and business requirements.
  • Provide information on required maintenance and improvement and assist with contingency planning.
  • Reporting back to the business the performance of your region, highlighting any high risks to the business.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety as well as continuous improvements across your region

What skills are we looking for?

  • Previous experience working within the Water Industry, ideally on wastewater networks.
  • Delivering customer excellence through network delivery
  • You will have a zero-compromise approach to health and safety and must be persistent in your methods.
  • An exceptional communicator at all levels of an organisation
  • previous experience working and managing the activity of third-party contractors.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good business/stakeholder awareness, together with an innovative and creative approach to problem-solving and strong team working and influencing skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
