About the role:

This is a great opportunity to join the System Operation Business Improvement team to get a unique and varied experience of liaising with a range of key stakeholders, providing insight and intelligence to deliver on improvements and efficiencies across the System Operations team.

Understand the regulatory and operational requirements of the System Operations team and help analyse and review existing processes and procedures to ensure wider System Operations team enabled to deliver on regulatory, operational and end customers’ requirements. You will identify opportunities for new projects to deliver agreed outcomes and work with stakeholders to design, facilitate and deliver change.  You will set up and carry out checks/audits to demonstrate change has become embedded.

Communicate status of work, escalating risks or issues if and where necessary along with suggested mitigating actions where possible. Provide support with training and technical innovation within the System Operations team.

Be involved in the investigation of non-compliances and provide administrative support to the System Operations Assurance team.

What do I need?:

The preferred candidate will either be a graduate, or ONC/HNC or equivalent in a technical discipline. Experience within the utility industry and working knowledge of hydraulics is desirable.

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to learn new subject matter quickly, along with an ability to communicate complex issues to a wide audience. Good interpersonal skills, so you will have the ability to get support and co-operation from others not directly under your control.

  • Either graduate, typically with several years relevant work experience, or ONC/HNC or equivalent in a field related to technical speciality typically with significant years relevant work experience.
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrable ability to learn new subject matter quickly, along with an ability to communicate complex issues to a wide audience
  • Self-starting with a high degree of personal drive
  • Experience and aptitude to engage with key stakeholders
  • Resilient with experience of operating in high-pressure environments
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal
  • Able to convert large data sets into graphs/tables to demonstrate and articulate findings
  • Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems (preferably GIS, SCADA knowledge) and Office software
