We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner, 6 month FTC to join our amazing Thames Water team. The role is currently working remotely but will be based in Reading with some travel required to our various sites.

The role will be supporting the Operations & Capital Delivery HR Director, to develop and deliver our agenda and associated activities in our Water Networks business area.

What will this role involve?

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver HR Leadership/ direction to circa 1000 employees in the Water Networks area of the business.
  • Effective stakeholder relationship building in Water Networks, creating a HR network for best practice across all delivery partners.
  • Actively contribute in increasing employee engagement in the Water Networks area of the business.
  • Creation and delivery of line management training on absence management, managing a disciplinary and performance management.
  • ER case management (including settlement agreements)
  • Key HR lead in the various projects within Thames Water.
  • Present people data and HR updates at meetings for Stakeholder groups.

Your skills & experience

  • Solid HR Generalist, who has operated as a strategic HR Business Partner, in complex, and fast paced organisation.
  • Ideally you will have worked in a regulated environment and have significant experience of partnering and influencing senior leadership teams.
  • You should be able to demonstrate a track record of proactive HR delivery with business areas/intelligent client groups and have the ability to understand the business challenges and translate these into a strategic people plan.
  • Previous experience of working within an operations environment with a strong focus on transforming customer outcomes would be beneficial. Our other opportunity lends itself best to someone with previous experience of working with operational teams to develop career paths and support an agile way of working.
  • You’ll need to be comfortable ‘rolling up your sleeves’ as well as working individually to get things done.
  • Although a CIPD qualified, or equivalent would be beneficial, we would also welcome this person to have a proven HR Business partnering background and are an expert in their field.
