We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our amazing Thames Water team. The role is currently working remotely but will be based in Reading with some travel required to our various sites.

The role will be supporting the Capital Delivery & Operations HR Director, to develop and deliver our agenda and associated activities in our Capital Delivery business areas. Capital Delivery is an area of the business that has grown and still going through a period of growth and change.

Key Accountabilities:

  • You will be part of the Capital Delivery learning team where you will deliver HR Leadership/ direction to circa 300 employees in the Capital Delivery area of the business.
  • Effective stakeholder relationship building in Capital Delivery, creating a HR network for best practice across all delivery partners.
  • Actively contribute in increasing employee engagement in the Capital Delivery area of the business with leadership/management up skilling.
  • Creation and delivery of line management training on Absence management, managing a disciplinary and performance management
  • ER case management (including settlement agreements)
  • Key HR lead in the various projects within Thames Water.
  • Managed and facilitated TIER 3 (trade union groups) discussions in stakeholder areas.
  • Presented people data and HR updates at meetings for Stakeholder groups.

Your skills & experience:

  • Solid HR Generalist, who has operated as a strategic Senior HR Business Partner, in complex, and fast paced organisation.
  • Experience of managing teams of direct and indirect (client) employees under a join people plan
  • Ideally you will have significant experience of partnering and influencing senior leadership teams.
  • Previous experience of working within a capital delivery or similar environment with a strong focus on transforming customer outcomes would be beneficial.
  • You’ll need to be comfortable ‘rolling up your sleeves’ as well as working individually to get things done with a collaborative outlook to work across the business with other Senior HR Business Partners.
  • Although a CIPD qualified, or equivalent would be beneficial, we would also welcome this person to have a proven HR Business partnering background and are an expert in their field.
  • We are looking for someone who is professional and easy going / informal, a ‘big picture’ thinker.
