About the role

We are recruiting for a Head of Planning and Performance to join our busy Wholesale Services Team. This role is a critical part of the senior leadership team where you will collaborate closely with the other business areas to ensure performance is managed to maximise opportunity for the business. 

As Head of Planning and Performance you will be ultimately be responsible for developing and controlling the programme of meter installations, new connections, main laying and water efficiency workstreams – ensuring that volumes, unit rates and budgets are in place to facilitate the delivery of great customer outcomes. 

You will also own the strategic direction of performance agendas, frameworks and governance structures – including the generation of operational and regulatory performance metrics.   

 

What you will be doing:

  • Managing the generation of performance insights to support operational leaders in driving service, regulatory and financial outcomes
  • Leading the definition, design, development, governance and delivery of the Planning and Performance vision; helping us to ensure any plans is a joined up and progressing on track to meet key milestones and deadlines
  • Leading the development, planning, monitoring and control of connection, new mains and metering programmes including generation of various demand profiles for all customer and asset driven work
  • Working with stakeholders to understand customer demand and generate detailed programmes of works
  • Managing budgets, efficiency challenges, financial governance processes and risk schedules
  • Provide reporting and analysis to support decision making processes that drives organisational performance, this will include focussing on the benefits to the customer, looking at how best to measure and report on impacts and outcomes, anticipate market trends and achieve the delivery of the organisational strategies
  • Translation of production plans into resource plans and supply chain order books
  • Enhancing the quality of operational performance data to drive insight and informed decisions
  • Consistently drive continuous improvement and high-performance using data driven insight available to you  

 

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience within a similar role, ideally in Utility or Telco environments
  • A proven track record within the disciplines of Planning, Performance, Continuous improvement frameworks and leadership is essential to succeed in this post.
  • Managing performance reporting & execution
  • Understanding business needs and environments, future trends, opportunities and constraints.
  • Track record of collaborating with and motivating teams.
  • Business case development experience - able to be a subject matter expert for others
  • Experience in working with and preparing reports for senior level stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and visual presentation skills with experience of using reporting tools and creating dashboards
