We are looking for a Head of Finance –Transformation, on a 12 month FTC, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a change plan that transforms ways of working across Finance processes, policies, systems and contact channels. You will lead the Group Services Finance team and ensure efficient and effective delivery of financial support and business partnering across all levels of Group Services Functions (Asset Strategy & Planning, Human Resources, Finance & Commercial, and Regulation & Corporate Affairs).

Key Accountabilities:

Transformation responsibilities:

  • Assess effectiveness and efficiency of Finance processes in the context of evolving business needs and reducing Finance spend budget
  • Develop a prioritised plan (based on business value and impact) for service improvement across the Finance processes, policies, systems and contact channels;
  • Where appropriate propose organisational change required to optimise outcomes, propose KPIs and milestone targets to bring the plan to life in terms of achieving service and cost outcomes
  • Design a methodology to ensure that approvals, version control, change control and documentation are standardised and consistently applied (policies, guidance, intranet content, process maps etc.)
  • Develop communication tools to embed change projects as necessary, working in partnership with the wider Finance community, communication team and business managers
  • Implement review mechanisms to ensure that benefits are realised, changes are embedded and sustainable and that continuous improvement is ongoing

Finance Manager Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with Group Services teams to support the achievement of shared business objectives and ensure adherence to agreed process and procedures.
  • Process Compliance & Control: Ensure financial decisions, statements and reports produced by the finance team align with corporate processes, are compliant with all regulatory and accounting standards and that agreed financial controls are in place and monitored using relevant KPIs.
  • Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting: Provision of effective and timely financial analysis and reporting to business partners, central finance and ultimately external stakeholders

Business Performance responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Leaders of Group Service Functions to monitor financial performance against targets, agree on corrective action and turn financial insight in to financial opportunities.
  • Regularly influencing and presenting to Executives on financial matters including performance, financial plans and business cases related to new business commitments and ensuring this is also happening at all relevant levels across these functions.
  • People: Manage a highly capable team who are motivated, have personal influence and are considered trusted advisers by their respective business partners

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • This role requires someone that has strong experience in managing and successfully delivering complex Finance change projects in an evolving organisation
  • Experience working as a finance manager for a multinational/large national sized enterprise, where accountable for managing a team of Finance professionals completing core finance processes
  • Detailed knowledge of Finance processes, policies and systems – ideally in SAP ERP environment
  • Performed roles with frequent and diverse interactions with Business and Finance Executives
  • Highly organised, strong communicator with excellent presentation skills, service focused and commercially minded
