About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in one or our most critical roles within Operations, our front-line performance manager. We are seeking a motivated individual to lead and develop a team of up to 10 technicians. You will drive their personal performance and improve team engagement, whilst managing in line with HR policies & process. Day to day duties will include:

  • Managing the operation and maintenance across one third of the South London area, 9 Water Treatment Works, 10 Service Reservoirs and 6 Booster stations.
  • Process and Water Quality Management – ensuring the sites achieve & maintain compliant levels of water quality, good asset reliability to meet the required output volumes.
  • Financial Management –owning and managing the budgetary and financial activities of the sites and team, driving efficiencies into the overall area operational budget.
  • Performance Management – ensuring team’s productivity and overall maintenance completion and you will be responsible for developing the team, driving their training and health & safety awareness.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management - ensuring an exceptional service to our customers with early personal interventions as required.
  • Health and Safety – You will be responsible for safety on the sites under your control and lead the Health and Safety culture of your team as well as auditing the Health and Safety system & processes.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • We are looking for an established manager, ideally someone who has process or operational management experience with skills in engineering, finance, H&S and stakeholder engagement.
  • You will need excellent people and performance management skills to support and drive a team of mixed skills and abilities.
  • A focus on health & safety and customer-based ethics.
  • Organisational and risk management skills are also preferred along with good interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal are essential for the role.
  • Strong computer skills are also desirable.
  • A valid driving licence is required to travel to different sites within your patch.
