What you will be doing

We have an exciting opening for a Regional Transmission Manager within our Water Production business. The base location is totally flexible and as the successful candidate, you will be accountable for developing, as well as leading and delivering the business plan for the surface raw water abstraction and transmission assets to ensure we provide our customers with a continuous supply of safe, clean and palatable drinking water.

Main Accountabilities will be

  • Ensure a zero-compromise approach to health & safety within the region through taking a systematic view of understanding cause and effect.
  • Inspire and develop leaders within your region to demonstrate strong leadership competence.
  • Responsible for understanding and proactively managing the operational risks relating to surface raw water, abstraction and transmission.
  • Develop and deliver plans which balance the need of having the right people, at the right time, at the right place to ensure operational KPIs are met.
  • Develop and articulate measures that ensure no interruptions to water supply due to the asset/process/people within the region.
  • Lead on event management across Thames Water.
  • Accountable for managing the risk between protecting public health and operational performance, through key stakeholder management.
  • Drive operational efficiencies (in particular energy) in partnership with the Operational Excellence team.
  • In collaboration with Asset Management develop and deliver Thames Water’s drought plans.
  • In collaboration with Asset Management deliver plans to ensure our leakage targets are met.
  • Deliver the reservoir and tunnel inspection programme to ensure compliance.

We’re looking for you to:

  • Have the ability to operate across all levels of the business from operations through to exec level
  • Operations leadership in a regulated environment
  • Commercially minded and have a proven track record of effective performance management with the ability to maximise operational performance at all levels
  • Willingness to take calculated risks and be comfortable operating under pressure
  • Ability to drive change, influence and win the hearts and minds of a team through periods of change and transformation
  • Due to the nature of the role, you will have a clean and full UK driving licence
