What you will be doing

This is a brilliant opportunity to join Thames Water’s Water Networks team at an exciting time as it continues its business and cultural transformation.  Our Water Network business provides our customers and communities with life’s essential service ‘Water,’ and this new role is crucial in ensuring we provide them every day with the high-quality service they deserve.

Your role will be to ensure we’re providing an excellent service to our customers through effective operation and maintenance of the Networks.

You will be required to undertake routine maintenance tasks through to complex investigations and issue resolution. This may include:

  • Maintaining a high level of health and safety for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Undertaking a series of tasks to enable the identification and resolution of leakage in our hydraulic systems, investigations will include activities such as step testing, portioning of areas to understand leakage, flow testing, correlation, logger deployment 
  • Identifying and resolving system issues impacting levels of service such as Poor Water Quality, Poor Pressure, Burst Pipes, etc
  • Taking ownership of any issue/anomaly and seeing it through to resolution. 

We’re looking for you to:

  • Have the appropriate education level/qualifications (NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds, GCSE) or equivalent experience in either a water network or leakage role.
  • Take Ownership of customer queries, being curious to fully understand the query and identify the best solution to resolve it the first time
  • Deliver great customer service through a positive approach, taking accountability for your role while working accurately and flexibly within a busy team
  • Possess IT skills to communicate via a portable device.
  • Hold a valid full UK driving license.
