What you will be doing:

This is an exciting opportunity where you will require you to perform a range of activities to ensure that all equipment associated with Mogden sewage treatment works in South West London are running safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory compliance. You will form part of a close shift team which operates a 12-hour rotating shift role which gives you an 8-day rest period and a 16-day rest period within your shift cycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring the plant and inspecting equipment via SCADA system
  • Working alongside and assisting other team members to ensure site wide KIPs are met
  • Reporting any defective equipment, to ensure a swift resolution following any breakdowns
  • Taking ownership of your own, and colleagues, health and safety through escalating any concerns to your manager and resolving them yourself where possible
  • Attending all team meetings, engaging with safety briefings and company communications, identifying issues, and raising constructive feedback with the management team, with suggestions for improvements
  • Cleaning machinery when required
  • Sample testing around site and carrying out routine checks

We’re looking for you to:

  • Be a team player and work in a close-knit team
  • Take Ownership and get stuck in with a proactive approach to your work
  • Have previous process operation, mechanical and electrical experience is desirable
  • Possess basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Hold a full valid UK driving licence

What’s in it for you?

You will be part of a team responsible for processing sewage sludge for a digestion process creating renewable energy (biogas) for power generation. Also be involved with the conditioning of waste ‘sludge’ to ensure its suitability for agricultural use.
