What you will be doing

At Thames Water, we use our Environmental Management System, Operational Management System and Asset Management system to help ensure we meet our stakeholder commitments and deliver our business objectives. We have recognised the opportunity to consolidate our systems into an Integrated Management System (IMS) for a simple, clear framework that sets out our standards.

In this role, you’ll be leading the programme to develop, deliver and maintain the IMS (accredited) to meet requirements. You’ll also be responsible for building and delivering our internal audit programme, working closely with the wider Management Systems team and teams across the business.

We’re looking for you to:

  • Manage the programme to develop, deliver and maintain the IMS with a team of IMS advisors
  • Collaborate with our management system leads and the business to coordinate activity for integration
  • Undertake programme reporting to report progress and outcomes of improvement
  • Lead and attend meetings with key internal stakeholders and build strong relationships to support the delivery of the management systems
  • Build the audit programme and manage the assurance activities ensuring that the internal audit schedules are delivered
  • Present project risks and solutions early to allow business response
  • Build and lead the engagement plan for our systems
  • Develop good working relationships across internal stakeholder groups at all levels

We’re looking for you to:

  • Have a practical understanding of management systems and ideally knowledge of the water industry asset base
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to clearly interact with our stakeholders
  • Have excellent organisational skills and programme management experience
  • Take ownership of improving and implementing new ways of working
  • Be adept in managing a productive team to deliver outputs
  • Have a professional qualification or working towards or equivalent
