What you will be doing

We have a great opportunity to join our Wholesale Services team in Langley, Berks. The Project Manager Replacement Metering will lead the delivery and performance management of the Replacement Metering Programme for Thames Water, replacing analogue meters with state-of-the-art Digital Smart Meters.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of a range of technical services through the project lifecycle, providing project teams with in-depth technical expertise. You will lead an office and field-based team comprising of employees from our Delivery Partners in performance managing the end to end Replacement Metering Processes required to effectively deliver the programme and the customer journey.

  • Establish and continuously promote proactive health, safety & environment culture across the projects and our Delivery Partners, driving a zero-compromise approach
  • Manage the activities of multi-disciplinary project teams in accordance with project delivery procedures
  • Initiate and develop communication and good relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, review customer complaints and establish areas for improvement, with the aim of delighting our customers
  • Manage the delivery of project outputs to time, budget, quality and compliance to KPIs through planning and forecasting resource requirements
  • Performance management of the Delivery Partners to ensure the out-performance of service levels and value for money
  • Achieve best practices in the safe and sustainable delivery of projects, as well as subsequent operation and maintenance

We’re looking for you to:

  • Have a track record of delivering quality projects, with a strong focus on customer service and Health and Safety
  • Have budgetary and performance management experience
  • Demonstrative capability with risk-based and analytical decision making
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess broad knowledge and experience in investment decisions
  • Be educated to A ‘level standard
  • Hold a full UK driving licence as travel to other sites is essential
  • Be fully proficient at using appropriate IT systems and office software
  • A qualification in project management, Prince 2 / APM or equivalent, would be desirable
  • Awareness of water and the wider utility industry would be desirable
