What you will be doing

By focusing on quality in everything Water Production does, we are committed to providing clean, safe and reliable drinking water, which complies with all the necessary regulatory standards and is available when our customers want it.

The Water Production Excellence team is a technical resource supporting front line operations, and we have an opportunity to join our specialist team. The team supports Water Production in achieving three key challenges 1. Maintain water quality compliance 2. Promote system resilience and 3. Drive cost efficiencies ensuring value-for-money for our customers.

The team has a mixture of skills and experience including; chemical, mechanical and power/energy and we are looking to fill an opening within the team. We are seeking technically skilled individuals that might have practitioner experience in one or more of the areas below:

  • Optimising water treatment processes
  • Knowledge/experience of energy management/optimisation
  • Modelling/data analysis of production systems source to tap

We’re looking for you to:

  • Likely have a Degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific, Engineering or Power discipline
  • Have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills as you will be working with colleagues and key stakeholders on a day to day basis
  • Be results driven, continuously seeking new and improved ways of working, possibly experienced in Lean, Sigma and/or Kaizan methodologies
  • Be comfortable in taking the lead, a self-starter not reliant upon close supervision and guidance
  • Be a logical and analytical mind and able to maintain a positive and professional approach when dealing with internal customers of all levels

This is a unique role where you will be tasked with driving operational and financial continuous improvement from source to tap. Due to the nature of the role, frequent travel across the Thames region will require you to have a full driving licence and a private car allowance will be available.

Our competitive salary package includes an excellent contributory pension, 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service and a wider benefits scheme.
