What you’ll be doing:

As the Field Scientist, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support to operational teams, maintaining regulatory compliance and meeting internal business targets.

As part of this team you will be expected to undertake activities such as water quality monitoring from the source to service reservoir, investigating water quality failures or events at company assets and providing recommendations to both internal and external departments on corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. You will also be responsible for providing technical support to Production, Network and Capital Delivery Schemes in order to ensure that water quality requirements are met and undertaking out of hours technical support.

We’re looking for you to:

  • HNC or Degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific or Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in water treatment processes, supply or regulation.
  • Problem Solving is a crucial part of this role and any previous experience in this area would be highly beneficial
  • Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are also key to this role as you will be liaising with internal stakeholders within Thames Water on a day to day basis.
  • Travel to other sites is required as a major part of this role thus a driving license is essential. The ability to work in a logical and analytical manner and be able to maintain a positive and professional approach is also essential.
