What you’ll be doing

A successful candidate in the PMO Manager role will take responsibility for helping to shape the PMO strategy and implementation of strategy and governance controls for Operations Transformation Programmes. You’ll lead the implementation of PM methodologies including Agile as developed by TW, ensuring standards and compliance with reporting tools that drive successful delivery across all projects and products to inform both Programme execution and contribution to the overall status of the Operations Transformation Portfolio.

You’ll ensure adherence to project management procedures, methodologies, guidelines, and best practices of the Portfolio Management Office i.e., ensures consistent application of an effective project management methodology, ensures portfolio reporting mechanisms are adhered to with regards to planning, budget, resources, RAID, change, progress, and quality. All reporting in EPM, Azure Dev Ops and the Results Accelerator Tool is current, accurate and decision points called out and escalated.

We’re looking for you to

  • Provide support and guidance on portfolio, programme, and project management processes, procedures, software, tools, and techniques
  • Advice on the development, production, and maintenance of business cases; time, resource, cost and exception plans, and the use of related software tools
  • Assurance of Programme and Project Management reporting and tracking of programme/project progress and performance from a quality assurance perspective
  • Administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings. To be run to standard agenda held by Central PMO
  • Ongoing governance and assurance arrangements in line with Central PMO guidance.  Manage project gate reviews with the Project Managers, providing quality assurance of gates in preparation for review and sign off. Recommendations made for progression to the subsequent stage
  • Ensure quality of RAID items, with the insistence of updates/mitigation and closure where possible.  Escalate issues and ensure change control methods and processes are embedded and followed. Ensuring all change-related risk is accurately reflected in the Corporate Risk Management process and shared with relevant areas of the business
  • Analyse interfaces and critical dependencies across the business wide portfolio dependencies, ensuring they are being actively managed, and the dependencies are logged

What Skills are we looking for?

  • A successful candidate will have education to a degree level or relevant experience
  • You’ll have Prince2, MSP, P30 and/or PPSO qualifications
  • Is courageous and decisive, prioritises effectively, maintains a clear focus, and sees action through to delivery
  • Is energetic, determined, positive, goal focussed and consistent - even under pressure
  • Confidently conveys complex messages and information, concerning progress, problems, and their solutions
  • Demonstrates the ability to engage and communicate persuasively with a broad range of stakeholders, up to and including board level
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and verbal/ written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Project, Visio, and all standard MS Office programs
