What you will be doing
We are seeking operational strategic leads across London & Thames Valley to help understand the efficient operation of the production area, maximising our cheaper sites, balancing the short-term needs against the seasons ahead.
This role will support the production efficiency drive of £5m year on year for this AMP. Without this role, opportunities will be limited and put the program at risk.
This role will sit within the Operational Excellence Team, responsible for defining the optimisation programme activity to deliver operational excellence benefits and aid Water Production in achieving their three key objectives across the coming years; maintain water quality compliance, promote system resilience, and drive cost efficiencies ensuring value-for-money for our customers.
The role crosses over the whole of the water estate from Abstraction to Transmission, covering London & TV.
Allows the successful candidate to work across several levels within the business. Giving good development opportunities
- Identifying Efficient Operation of the Production area’s
- Driving Culture and Behaviour changes to identify cost effective seasons strategies
- Reducing Production Operating Costs
- Understanding Asset efficiencies – Pumping
- Identifying investment needs vs risks on a cost basis
- Working across Finance, Energy and Production teams to meet company commitments and ODI’s in a cost-effective way
- Reducing current operational costs and improving working practices around utilisation of base, resilient and event sites
We’re looking for you to:
- Be a credible leader with the drive and energy to deliver targets, leading, and supporting your team
- Take ownership of improving and implementing new ways of working
- Have excellent organisational, communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
- Be knowledgeable in current Health & Safety management
- Be IT literate and able to learn new software quickly
- Have knowledge of finances
- Have production and wider business understanding – minimum 5 years
- Capable of working in the office and out on-site supporting improvements to be cost effective
