What you’ll be doing

As a Contracts Coordinator you will be part of Operations, Projects, Logistics and Incident Management (OPALIM) who manages a portfolio of contracts covering a wide of operational activities including haulage, tankering, plant and equipment hire, facilities management, waste management and many more. As a Contracts Coordinator, you will be responsible for monitoring the contract performance of suppliers, contract compliance and developing contractor relationships. You will work closely with operational site-based teams and internal commercial functions to ensure excellent standards are maintained, in line with the contract. Your key duties will include:

  • Attending sites, meeting operational teams and working with contractors in the field to ensure services are being delivered as expected
  • Monitoring the performance of contractors in accordance with the contract requirements to ensure the best value and services from the contracts
  • Planning and undertaking inspections, audits, reviews and other assessments relating to all services to ensure works are undertaken in accordance with the contract and follow all relevant procedures and legislation, including health and safety and environmental
  • Reviewing contractor’s performance against KPIs and apply for service level credits
  • Ensuring any issues are brought to the contractor's attention and are remedied in a timely manner
  • Recording, investigating and resolving complaints regarding contractors received from internal Operations teams and/or members of the public
  • Assisting with payment queries and disputes on contract financials and work closely with OPALIM Quantity Surveyors to resolve
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of all inspections, audits, reviews and assessments and produce associated statistics and reports
  • 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Based at Clearwater Court, Reading and working from home
  • Occasional travel to other sites within the Thames Water estate


We’re looking for you to

  • Have a full UK valid driving licence and own transport. Or be working towards getting this within six months
  • Be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and excellent numeracy
  • Be highly organised with an inquisitive and tenacious nature
  • Have exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have the ability to build rapport at ease and confidently communicate at all levels
