What you will be doing

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Delivery Manager in our Sewage Treatment works. As the successful candidate, your role will be to assist the  ML5 Area Manager with Directly Manage Projects and Risks associated with the STWs in their catchments. You will liaise with key stakeholders such as Asset Management, Capital Delivery and Financial Teams.

Covering over 50 sites, this strategic role is to identify and manage operational risks within the North region and plan immediate investment within a 12-24-month horizon and assist the Area Delivery Manager on a day-to-day basis.

Main Accountabilities

  • The delivery of asset enhancement and health & safety initiatives on circa 50 Sewage Treatment Sites
  • Being responsible for maintaining risk data as well as prioritisation of risks via Thames Water risk register system
  • Improving process headroom across sites to safeguard compliance, generation, and budgetary performance by liaising with ML5s across the region
  • Assist in the management of £10m - £20m of Capital Investment per year with potential risks of £50m
  • Ensure effective local risk meetings and senior risk meetings are held in compliance with business standard requirements with a focus on continuous improvement and review
  • Be a leading figure across the North with engagement of Maintenance Project engineers and management for timely and effective project delivery
  • Chairing the local risk review meetings with the view of feeding into the senior risk review meeting  
  • Driving a culture of safety, performance management, exceptional customer service and experience
  • Actively promoting a continuous improvement culture that has sustainable strategic impact on both Operational and the wider business performance
  • Demonstrating the ability to remain calm and positive under pressure and inspire others to do the same by maintaining a positive 'can-do' attitude seeing challenges as opportunities

We’re looking for you to have

  • Must have extensive experience in wastewater or water treatment
  • A strong health & safety background assist in managing finance, and chairing meetings.
  • The ability to think commercially with regards to all financial expenditure, analysing benefits and risks and articulating sound business cases including the wider business impacts for investment considering both OPEX and CAPEX
  • A proven track record in programme/project management with previous Mechanical and/or Electrical experience or a process recognised qualification
  • Extensive relevant experience with previous team or functional management and possess strong communication and influencing skills and will be able to articulate clear and robust business cases linked to benefits and risk
  • A valid driving licence is essential
