Developer Services Helpdesk

 

What is the purpose of these roles?

We’re a fast-paced, friendly and knowledgeable team, who take inbound calls from our varied customer base (which includes large and small developers, builders, and architects as well as homeowners doing home improvement or renovation works) to offer them advice on our various services.

There is a lot to learn in this role and you’ll be advising customers on how to apply for new water and sewerage connections, as well as sewer adoptions, what we require for Water Regulations inspections and a general knowledge of our clean and waste pipe network, to be able to advise customers how to protect our assets whilst they work near them.

 What skills are we looking for?

  • The ability to be comfortable in a fast-paced environment – you’ll take anywhere between 30-40 calls a day
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
  • A flexible nature that’s open to change
  • Computer literate
  • The ability to absorb knowledge and pick up new skills quickly
  • Good telephone manner
  • Happy being in a role where you’re on the telephone the majority of your day

 

Desirable but not essential:

  • Previous call centre/inbound call taking experience
  • An efficient typing speed

You will be based in our Head Office in Reading, this is a Permanent position working Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm with a competitive salary.
