What you’ll be doing
As a Warehouse Operative, you will be part of the Inventory Operations and Supply Management team and will be required to provide safe custody and real-time visibility of our stock holdings. You will be responsible for managing the daily receipts from the Distribution Centres, actioning returns against work orders whilst updating stock records accordingly and maintaining good housekeeping throughout the site and stores. You will provide front end service in support of the Thames Water capability, getting the right product to the right place at the right time.

  • £26,906 to £29,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
  • 45 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 06.00am-18.00pm
  • Shifts: 06.00am-16.00pm or 07.00am-17.00pm
  • Occasionally required to cover a Saturday and/or Sunday in the event of holiday or sickness
  • On call: 1 week in every 6 weeks – On-call enhancement, call out charge and overtime paid

You will be based at Kentish Town but will also regularly be required to work at Lea Bridge, with occasional travel to support the other Distribution Hubs in Esher, Darenth and possibly Crossness and South London. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Safely and securely loading and unloading vehicles
  • Using SAP to ensure that inventory levels reflect real-time holdings
  • Managing daily receipts from Distribution Centres
  • Actioning returns against works orders
  • Updating stock records accordingly
  • Maintaining good housekeeping throughout the site and stores
  • Ensuring equipment and critical stock are delivered and collected on time
  • Operate mechanical handling equipment in a safe manner
  • Safe custody of Thames Water stock and equipment


What you should bring to the role

  • Experience of working in a Warehouse and using RF scanners
  • A full UK driving licence and have your own transport
  • Experience using a Counterbalance, Reach or Telehandler Fork Lift
  • Be numerate and literate
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Be comfortable with manual handling, lifting up to 25Kgs
