 About the role

The Medium-Term Planner will support & help drive Forecasting Team in line with the ambition, vision and values of the wider Retail organisation.

At the outset, this role will focus on the in-depth insight required to support the Retail Service Operations organisation in delivering brilliant outcomes for our customers through supporting the operating of an industry-standard Forecasting and Scheduling function.  The role holder will be an essential business partner to the Thames Water Retail Service Operations organisation.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the Lead Forecasting Manager to create a Centre of Excellence for Forecasting supporting the Retail Organisation.
  • Responsible for supporting the translation of demand forecasts into call and work item forecasting and supporting the translation of this into highly effective people deployment plans.
  • Forecasting customer demand by time period and matching the scheduling of people to this demand, enabling target service levels to be met and resources deployed efficiently through interrogation, analytics & mitigating actions  
  • Supporting the governance and communication of the Revenue Manpower Risk & Opportunity plans and Forecast & Schedule plans including weekly/monthly planning forums.
  • Supports resource modelling across the planning organisation, including building the budget plan for Revenue Organisation (Rolling Forecast, previous 6+6, 3+3 etc), leading as a subject matter expert for assigned functions.
  • Responsible for interpreting complex driver models enabling the Revenue organisation to efficiently plan the use of resources achieving Cycle Time ‘best in class’ targets across key priority work items that have the most significant impact on the customer experience and propensity to complain.

Your experience will include:

  • Experience in Medium to Long Term Demand & Supply forecast planning.
  • Excellent Planning & forecasting skills.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Customer-centric career with evidenced experience and strong commercial acumen skills, knowledge of statistical techniques as well as current future trends in the use of technology.
