What you’ll be doing
The Inventory Operations & Supply team provides warehousing, storage and distribution of materials and critical equipment across the entire business. Operating on a 24/7, 365 basis the Inventory Operations and Supply Management team are the custodians of materials and critical equipment at distribution centres and distribution hubs for Thames Water.

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be part of the Inventory Operations and Supply Management team and will be required to provide safe custody and real-time visibility of our stock holdings which are then prepared for despatch in line with agreed customer service levels.

You will be responsible for Inbound and outbound transactions as well as stocktaking. You will be required to drive a forklift as part of your daily activities. In addition, you will utilise a warehouse management system to record transactions, using SAP and RFID system hardware routinely.

  • £21,500 to £26,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
  • 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • Shift Pattern: 06.00am-14.00pm, 08.00am-16.00pm, 10.00am-18.00pm
  • When Permanent: on-call rota: Monday-Sunday: On-call enhancement, call out charge and overtime paid
  • Full training and excellent wider benefits package

You will be based at Slough but provide day to day stock management for Distribution Hubs in the wider area with the flexibility to attend all Distributions Hubs when needed with occasional travel to other sites if required. Your main duties will include:

  • Using SAP to ensure that stock levels in the distribution centres reflect real-time holdings
  • Receiving, picking and packing materials
  • Progressing goods in and goods out of areas of activity
  • Updating stock records accordingly
  • Safely and securely loading and unloading vehicles
  • Providing support to the wider business during times of operational incidents
  • Operating mechanical handling equipment in a safe manner
  • Reporting vehicle defects and ensure that the defect is documented
  • Ensuring the safe custody of Thames Water stock and equipment

We’re looking for you to

  • Have warehouse and RF scanner experience
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have your own transport
  • Be numerate and Literate
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Be comfortable with manual handling, lifting up to 25Kgs
