Thames Water is the UK’s largest water and wastewater company. We make a daily difference to our 15 million customers by supplying 2.6 billion litres of water through 32,000 km’s of pipes, to keep taps flowing and toilets flushing. We are an essential service and have operated throughout the Covid19 pandemic.

What you will be doing:

Your role will be to ensure that our wastewater treatment works are running safely and efficiently, to protect the environment, all whilst working within a supportive team culture. This is a fantastic opportunity to be hands-on, working outdoors, often in beautiful countryside. This is a rewarding position that will offer you long term progression and stability.

You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring, cleaning and inspecting equipment, following a checklist to carry out maintenance, whilst ensuring the equipment is working by doing a test run. You will be required to report any defective equipment, to ensure a swift resolution following any breakdowns, whilst attempting a first-time fix
  • Taking ownership of your own and colleagues' health and safety through escalating any concerns to your manager or resolving them yourself where possible and appropriate
  • Site pride – putting your stamp on your sites. Striving for site accreditation of the highest level

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with the following

  • Previous maintenance or operative experience.
  • Computer data input /enquiry experience 
  • The ability to operate modern technology as work will be scheduled through this system
  •  A team player, who is passionate about your personal development
  • Keen to learn a new industry and embark on a rewarding training programme
  • Health and safety focused
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
  • Be hands-on and relish the outdoor life

Our competitive salary package (with an increase of £1.5 k upon your Process Technician qualification) includes an excellent contributory pension, 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 with the length of service and a wider benefits scheme.
