What you’ll be doing

This is a fantastic and unique opportunity to work side by side with our new Digital Transformation Director who has accountabilities for all things Digital and Technology at Thames Water.  You will be acting as a key partner, supporting our strategic ambitions and initiatives, working with high profile stakeholders and senior executives daily. Additionally, the role holder will likely lead on a range of special projects as well as partner with the Digital Leadership team on the overall business objectives

 

Reporting into our Digital Transformation Director, you will have an opportunity to see first-hand how our experienced senior leaders work to make our business a success, the challenges they face and how they balance priorities. You will be able to learn from our Digital LT about all aspects of our business as well as developing the skills required in a role at this level.

This role will be varied and demanding but will allow you to gain new skills and experience. This is a great opportunity for someone to gain a deeper understanding of Thames Water and build their career.

We’re looking for you to do

  • Assist in setting Digital & Technology Leadership Team (DTLT) agenda. Facilitating the running of the function; formulating effective agendas, managing priorities, and making sure next steps are clear and actions are completed.
  • Lead on the monthly executive performance reporting providing support on the objective and key results.
  • Support Digital Transformation Director with strategic planning and operations
  • Ensuring the Director is well equipped and has the necessary information for meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, shareholders and/or regulators,
  • Taking ownership for a range of special projects within Team Digital.

What Skills are we looking for?

  • This role requires a highly motivated and driven individual who is keen to develop their skills and learn more about Thames Water.
  • The ideal candidate will have bias for collaboration and communication, with attention to detail and a relaxed style.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for getting things done, taking ownership and seeing activities through to completion, as well as the ability to be involved in several high-profile projects or activities at one time. The role holder will need to be flexible and adapt to changing needs and/or events, which are inevitable in an operational business.
  • A desire to make a difference and the ability to absorb and interpret high levels of information and data are essential. You will be highly organised with a professional, agile, and diligent nature.
  • You will need to be able to be a self-starter, work independently and collaboratively, be confident and quick to learn.
  • You will need to be discrete and maintain confidentiality as required, both during the role and after.
  • Understand the needs of our internal and external stakeholders, handling situations in a sensitive way.
  • Offer solutions with a natural problem-solving mentality.
  • Significant proficiency in MS Office (especially PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project)
