About the role:

This role will require you to support, lead and develop a team of 14 slow sand filter technicians, to safely achieve the operational outputs of one of the largest water treatment works in Europe. The slow sand filter process is critical in producing at high standard of potable water for the people of London.

This role will involve:

  • Controlling and auditing site activity, ensuring the safety of the team, contractors and other third parties through the consistent application of company Health & Safety policy
  • Delivering increasing levels of customer experience and optimising service delivery
  • Preparing reports and presentations for key stakeholders, including senior management teams and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring the team are in line with production plans and service agreements are met
  • Working with the Technical team to ensure assets are available and in sound working order, to ensure the water treatment work’s output is sufficient
  • Managing budgets and cost to ensure you are meeting and exceeding tight financial targets while maintaining quality
  • Ensuring the continued operability of the SSF team’s mobile plant, by certifying effective maintenance, helping diagnose faults and working with the mobile plant maintenance contractors
  • You may be required to participate in an out of hours roster with the management team.

What makes this role unique?

The Performance Manager will help to ensure compliance with regulatory standards to ensure wholesome drinking water is provided to our customers. Slow Sand Filters are the heartbeat of the process at Hampton and so you and your team will play a pivotal role in meeting the Production Plan.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience managing and supporting a team whilst coordinating team activity. The ideal candidate will be someone who can develop and encourage people within a team setting
  • Previous water production experience would be highly beneficial as well as having knowledge of the clean water treatment process. As well as this, previous industry experience would be beneficial, as would previous operation/ knowledge of mobile plant
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, alongside excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and demonstrable ability of managing workload under pressure
  • Confident in your ability to present key findings and liaise with managers of all levels
  • A strong background in process management with excellent skills in operations, engineering, finance, H&S, stakeholder engagement and customer focus is essential
  • Due to the nature of the role, a valid, UK driving licence is required
