We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Pollution Co-ordinator.

£30,442- £41,186 plus a 25% Shift allowance on top of basic salary.

12 hour rotating shift pattern, based on an average contractual 38-hour week worked over an agreed 6 week shift cycle.

What is the purpose of this role?

To triage potential pollution incidents from our assets and co-ordinate the effective response to them, focussing on collecting environmental impact data and reporting appropriately to our regulators. Working closely with field and office colleagues to reach the best outcome for the environment.

  • Monitor key systems for incoming work, assessing pollution risk and logging actions
  • Understand and act on relevant environmental guidelines and statute, ensuring the Environment Agency are kept informed of incidents, working collaboratively to prevent and mitigate impact to the environment
  • Working closely with field operations teams to ensure appropriate attendance, mitigation needs, and follow-on-work is identified and carried out
  • Utilise operational expertise (network) to support proactive pollution prevention activities
  • Help in identifying continuous improvement activities and support their implementation
  • Take responsibility for own health and safety and that of colleagues

We are looking for you to have:

  • Relevant technical capabilities to understand interaction between assets and impact of failure
  • Proven understanding of the regulatory and legal environments
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software
