What you’ll be doing 

  • The PMO finance team is looking for a talented Cost Controller to deliver assurance on contractor costs, build robust forecasts, analyse and explain cost variances, draw value added insight from financial performance, Update Dashboards, drive efficient cost performance and continuously improve processes. The purpose of this role is to understand financial performance and drive cost efficiency whilst ensuring compliance with Thames Water governance processes.
  • The Cost Controller is critical to ensuring Water Network’s Finance and delivery is cost-effective while ensuring the integrity of financial data reported in Thames Water core financial systems. Working with both internal and external stakeholders, you will gain a wealth of experience from exposure to a variety of departments and will need to be good in excel. This is a great addition to your CV working for the UK’s largest water and water organisation.

 What you should bring to the role  

  • Experience within Finance Team or experience in a financial role within a large organisation
  • Experience providing cost assurance across large capital programmes
  • Has excellent numerical analysis capabilities
  • Has experience of reporting to and, where necessary, influencing senior business stakeholders
  • Can demonstrate a high attention to detail with the ability to work accurately with large volumes of financial data
  • Experienced in identifying trends in financial data and driving improvements in data quality
  • Good working knowledge of finance systems (SAP preferable)
  • Experienced analysing and effectively presenting/reporting on financial data 
  • Numerical, Analytical or Statistical based Degree or Professional Finance qualification ( ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
