What you’ll be doing
As the Logistics Control Operations Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of logistics services across Thames Water through the LOCC (Logistics Operational Control Centre). You will lead, manage and develop a team of logistics planners and specialists, focused on efficient and quality delivery of key strategic regulatory targets, including SI3 and pollution prevention whilst engaging key operational stakeholders. Your key duties will include:

  • Leading the delivery of the LOCC operational delivery commitments to all business units whilst maintaining an efficient and fully utilised team from Logistics Delivery and the supply chain
  • Leading, managing and developing a team of 11, including: Logistics Shift Planners, Logistics Co-ordinators and specialist roles, empowering judgement in delivery of services
  • Utilising feedback and data to identify areas of risk and improvement to improve LOCC service delivery and performance
  • Proactively managing a culture of health, safety and wellbeing within the team and across the Thames Water Delivery and supply chain teams
  • Driving engagement and involvement of the whole team in the efficient delivery of Logistics Control objectives
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the organisation to build relationships and improve the LOCC service delivery and efficiency
  • Ensuring the LOCC delivery approach is consistent and process-driven, working with the team and specialists to ensure processes are accurate and up to date
  • Supporting Incident Management, Systems & Control and operations where appropriate during operational incidents to ensure effective delivery and mitigation of risk
  • £39,000 to £49,424 per annum, depending on skills and experience
  • 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • This is a Permanent, Full-Time position
  • Hybrid role with base location Kemble Court, Reading

What you should bring to the role

  • Experience of managing and developing a team in an operational role
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience of dealing with and managing stakeholders expectations at all levels
  • Proven ability of working under pressure to meet targets in planned and emergency scenarios
  • Be highly organised, resilient and adaptable and able to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel and Outlook
