What you will be doing

This is an exciting opportunity to join Thames Water as one of our Delivery Support Apprentices. This is a great opportunity to learn the essential skills that are already in high demand across the industry and will set you on the path to your future career. 

You will be joining the newly established, Strategic Transformation team.  The team reports into the CFO and works closely with the CEO on strategic priorities. We are an inclusive, passionate, and focused team with expertise from an array of sectors. Our goal is to drive the Thames Water 8-year Turnaround Plan by building trusted partnerships and delivering successful and sustainable business wide transformation. 

You’ll be completing your apprenticeship through London Metropolitan College via a mix of online/virtual learning, monthly workshops and 1:1 tutor session’s to help develop your experience to excel within your career at Thames Water.

Other responsibilities include:

Target Setting – you will support the Delivery Manager and Exec Sponsors in setting program milestones and targets for our Strategic Programs. You will play a key role in ensuring that targets are appropriately baselined via documentation of outcomes and agreed measures and dates.

Program Visibility – you will play a pivotal role in communicating program progress to an array of stakeholders including the wider business, steering committees, Execs, Board Members and Shareholders. This will include Milestone and Outcome tracking, maintenance of RAID and Change registers and driving the heartbeat of a timely reporting cycle. Further to this you will validate and challenge submissions, compile evidence of delivery and join the dots to highlight key trends, opportunities, and risks to our stakeholders. 

Program Support – you will support your Delivery Manager and program team as needed by setting up workshops, meetings, taking minutes, chasing actions, arranging quotations and purchases, and managing ad hoc queries. You will ensure that documents are stored in compliance with our standards and records management policy.

We’re looking for you to:

Entry requirements for this Level 3 qualification are a minimum of two GCSEs Maths & English – Grade C/4. Don’t worry if you don’t have your grades yet, if you are due to sit your exams this year, we still want to hear from you if your predicted grades meet our requirements.

The starting salary will be £20,000 with a yearly pay review and full studies funded by Thames Water. You’ll also receive 24 days holiday, pension and other benefits. Travel costs are covered for travel to and from your studies.
