The team is at the heart of the delivery process taking projects from initial design right through to construction and commissioning. In the role, you will work with a wide range of people from across all of Thames Water and our contractors.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Civil Engineer:

  • Oversee the design development of several projects by engineers and consultants from the initial concept design and feasibility stage to contract award.
  • Identify, analyse, mitigate project risks, and realise opportunities to enable scope definition and robust pricing by contractors.
  • Assure the detailed design undertaken by contractors and any design change during construction.
  • Be responsible for providing the Project Teams with the support they need during the commissioning and handover of assets.
  • Undertake design reviews ensuring robust and safe solutions whilst meeting business and operational requirements.
  • Act as the key contact for the role of CDM Designer or Principal Designer during the initial stages of design.

Hybrid – Maple Lodge

36 hours a week Monday to Friday

What you should bring to the role

  • Hold an Civil Engineering HNC or a degree or a master’s degree in a specific Civil Engineering discipline
  • Understanding the principles of project delivery in process industries
  • Understanding of Health & Safety in the Construction industry
  • Understanding the decision of industrial processes in their Engineering discipline
