We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who will work on a portfolio of projects under the supervision of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to ensure that value for money is achieved alongside contractual compliance. You could have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects ranging in value from £25k to £200M during your career at Thames Water.
What you’ll be doing as an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
- Supporting with the Commercial Assurance of Retail Delivery Contracts
- Challenge and agreement of small to medium value project Tenders
- Compiling Detailed Estimates for Customers / Developers
- Ensuring that payments are made on time and in accordance with the Contract for your given portfolio of Projects
- Assessing the Quantum of Change and / or Extension of Time under the relevant Contracts on assigned portfolio
- Attending monthly site meetings on site
- Auditing and agreeing on Project Accounts
Base Location: Reading - Hybrid
Working Pattern or hours: 36 hours
What you should bring to the role:
- Experience of commercially managing small projects both pre and post contract
- Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying of equivalent
- Have a desire to work towards gaining Chartered Status
- Be aware of water regulation (incl. OFWAT Price Review methodology)
- Be good at building and maintaining relationships
- Have good communication skills
- Hold a full UK Driving license and have your own transport
