Are you a skilled electrical engineer seeking a new opportunity to work on ground-breaking projects for the UK’s largest water company? We are recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in developing current and new sewage treatment works in the Thames Valley and home counties. This role is vital in delivering essential services to the Thames Valley and surrounding areas both now and in the future. Come and join us in providing crucial services to our community.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Reviewing electrical submissions and providing tech input into various schemes across the TV wastewater programme
  • Reviewing electrical aspects of briefs to ensure they meet required legislation and Thames Water standards
  • Input and continuously improve Technical Asset Standards
  • Signing off electrical aspects and designs
  • Provide electrical assurance during the delivery, commissioning, and handover of Assets
  • Assist, support and mentor fellow electrical engineer team members
  • Liaising with the UK distribution network power operators

This is a hybrid role, with a base location of our head office at Clearwater Court in Reading.

You will be expected to be in the office once a week, with the remaining time spent between hybrid working and onsite.

You should have a suitable business travel car and a driving licence.

Ideally, this will be a full-time 36-hour-a-week role, working Monday to Friday, but we are open to considering applications from people looking for part-time hours.

What you should bring to the role of Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Degree or master’s in electrical engineering
  • Have a background in high-voltage work
  • An understanding of developing technical project solutions and briefs, especially those related to electrical scope
  • Awareness of project delivery in process industries
  • Have a strong comprehension of health & safety in the construction industry, particularly CDM
  • Awareness of the IEE regulations
  • Understanding of electrical processes and equipment especially pumps
