We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Thames Valley Planning team as a System Planner! In this role, you will be instrumental in securing a resilient water and waste service for the Thames Valley's present and future needs. 

As a System Planner, you will be at the forefront of developing medium-to-long-term asset interventions that support our investment process and guarantee a reliable and sustainable service for the growing population in the Thames Valley. What you’ll be doing as a System Planner

  • Identifying key system design capability (capacity/demand, Opex and performance).
  • Set out the performance required from the medium to longer-term area.
  • Understand the asset debt in the area.
  • Work with others to understand the critical risks in the area.
  • Understand the requirements of our customers, stakeholders, and regulators.
  • Develop and promote medium to long-term needs through the Stage Gate (SG0).
  • Ensure that the plans account for growth, climate change, improving the environment, and supporting the well-being of the communities in which we operate.
  • Share the plans across the area teams to help identify synergies and efficiencies.
  • Work with Operational teams to understand the critical area investment needs in the medium to longer term.
  • Develop medium to long-term activity forecasts for future price reviews and multi-AMP investment planning.
  • Work with external stakeholders and partners to co-create investment options that meet multi-agency needs.

Hybrid – Clearwater Court.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

What you should bring to the role

  • Good experience or a degree in an engineering or environmental-based subject or similar would be desirable.
  • Have experience in the role field and hold solid analytical skills.
  • A sound understanding of asset management or engineering best practices.
  • A great communicator who can share complex information with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Be competent with MS Office and Microsoft 365, including Power BI and GIS.
  • Able to pull together complex information and create focused plans that meet business objectives.
  • Have a good understanding of risk management.

  • Competitive salary from £41600 - £45000 per annum.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
