Are you a technically minded professional with a passion for data accuracy and process improvement? Do you have experience with complex systems and scripting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Wholesale Market Services (WMS) team.

What you’ll be doing as a Data Analyst

As part of our team, you will oversee the live production data flow from internal systems to the Open Water Market, sharing responsibility for ongoing risk assessments related to transactional activities.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Monitor Live Data Flow: Oversee live production data from internal systems to the Open Water Market.
  • Risk Assessments: Share responsibility for ongoing risk assessments related to transactional activity.
  • Identify Solutions: Resolve incidents raised by WMS business users and identify data flow solutions or process improvement opportunities.
  • Automate Data Fixes: Use scripting to enhance data accuracy and reduce incident volume.
  • Create Reports: Develop reports to monitor data flow solutions and suggest possible process improvements.
  • Drive Efficiencies: Continuously enhance operational efficiency by automating processes wherever possible.
  • Ensure Integrity: Maintain market transactional integrity through process and system improvement, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

Base Location Hybrid/Reading.

Working Pattern/ hours – Full time - Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Contract Type: 9-month FTC/ secondment.

What you should bring to the role

  • Proven experience working with complex systems, performing data cleansing, and executing bulk updates through scripting.
  • Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with data analysis methods and techniques.
  • Proficiency in MSSQL, T-SQL, and advanced Excel.
  • Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
  • A keen attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • A problem-solving mindset.
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with the UK non-household competitive water market is desirable.
