The Repair & Maintenance Jeopardy Manager will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, mentoring and advising to ensure all Repair & Maintenance (R&M) works are set up and delivered efficiently and effectively from a Streetworks perspective. Compliance and reducing the time on site a critical measures of success.

You will be focused on driving down both avoidable and ‘unavoidable’ Streetworks costs (road closures, bay suspension, etc) across the regions, which includes developing and leading a clear RACI and plan which supports the continuous delivery of R&M work, ensuring responsibilities and hand-offs are clear across the end-to-end process.

  • Base location: London and Thames Valley Home Counties (e.g., Deephams, Datchet & Brixton).
  • Working pattern: Hybrid – 36 hours per week (Mon-Fri) with possible overtime available, for which you will receive additional payment.
  • Full UK Driving License Required.

What you’ll be doing as an R&M Jeopardy Manager

  • You will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, mentoring and advising on works across R&M, ensuring substantial reductions in avoidable streetworks penalties and ‘unavoidable’ costs.
  • You will ensure adherence to processes with clear lines of responsibility and real-time feedback to mitigate identified risks.
  • As the central point of contact for streetworks issues within the region, you will provide counsel and support to prevent avoidable & unavoidable costs.
  • Active engagement with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure that relationships are managed across Water Operations and the business, building a systemised delivery path for R&M work.
  • Demonstrate a targeted approach and focus on monitoring completion times from start to finish of R&M repairs.
  • You will oversee and ensure that all R&M repairs are planned and executed in line with the relevant legislation and processes.
  • Ensure that the R&M work is delivered in an efficient and compliant manner, ensuring that Streetworks fines are avoided.
  • Conduct face-to-face site meetings as common practice.

What should you bring to the role?

  • Previous experience managing an operational team. (contracts and direct labour)
  • Strong experience and understanding in managing against health and safety practices and legislation relating to water networks.
  • Previous experience working within a utilities operational team is highly desirable.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining routine operational grip and delivery against a set timescale.
  • Strong awareness of Streetworks legislation and costs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement ability and can easily build relationships.
  • Qualifications such as NEBOSH/IOSH or NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor Course are highly desirable.
  • Relevant management or professional qualification, or equivalent (Management of Water Networks/production), is highly desirable.
