This role is centred on contracts management, commercial oversight, and delivery assurance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the performance, compliance, and readiness of contracted parties delivering works and services associated with the Tideway Programme. You will play a key role in ensuring asset readiness and availability reporting is accurate, timely, and contractually aligned, while working closely with Tideway to shape the future maintenance and operational approach within the agreed commercial frameworks.
You will collaborate extensively with internal project teams, contract partners, and Tideway to ensure that assets and associated contractual deliverables are completed and handed over in line with programme timelines.
The London Tideway Tunnels comprise a wide and complex asset base spanning from Acton in the west to Abbey Mills and Beckton in the east. This role will be based at one of our London operational sites and will involve regular travel across the network to fulfil contract governance and supplier-facing duties.
The Tideway Tunnel is a multibillion-pound infrastructure project designed to prevent storm sewage from entering the River Thames. With construction nearing completion, Thames Water is preparing to take on the operational and contractual responsibilities, making the establishment of robust contract governance and readiness processes essential at this stage.
What you’ll be doing as an LTT Contracts Manager:
- Working collaboratively with Tideway and our delivery partners to develop and agree contractual approaches to reliability-centred maintenance and long-term asset stewardship.
- Reviewing technical information and translating it into clear contract deliverables, specifications, and performance expectations, ensuring suppliers deliver to the required standards.
- Supporting the delivery of project outputs through active participation in multidisciplinary working groups as assets transition from commissioning through to acceptance and long-term operational contracts.
- Developing, monitoring, and reporting contract-aligned KPIs, ensuring contractors meet quality, readiness, and performance measures.
- Providing leadership and oversight to a small team, ensuring objectives tied to contract performance and asset readiness availability are achieved.
- Managing maintenance and service contracts, ensuring performance, compliance, and delivery obligations are met in accordance with contract terms.
- Preparing and issuing asset and contract performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Base location: Beckton (STW) - IG11 0AD, however there is flexibility to be based out of other London sites.
Working pattern or hours: Hybrid – 36 Hours per week (Monday to Friday).
