We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Planning Co-ordinator role, where you will play an integral part in facilitating seamless planning and permit-to-work activities.
Your main role will be a Planner, which in short, involves assigning work to our delivery partners to enable them to make our customers clean water connections. The work should be critically checked for complete information and assigned to the relevant delivery partners in line with our SLA's. This work comes in a variety of forms including customer phone calls, emails, reports and Delivery Team queries.
When required, and after your core skills have been embedded, you may be required to raise permits and valve checks within a strict set of guidelines. Attention to detail is key, as this work is crucial to ensuring our Delivery Partners can carry out clean water connections in line with our SLA’s. Alongside this is a busy central mailbox, in which, queries from multiple teams should be responded to on the day to ensure permits can be approved.
This role covers 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The team covers the working hours from 8am to 5.00pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office.
Further responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the plot-to-postal, chlorination, and TAPS 5 processes to maintain water quality.
- Supporting various tasks essential to maintaining operational excellence.
This role demands excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and maintaining service quality.
What you’ll be doing as a Planning Co-ordinator
- To raise permits and valve checks alongside strict guidelines, within published SLAs.
- Assign all developer services to work within the published SLAs.
- A high level of coordination skills, managing multiple tasks and systems at one time.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Liaise efficiently with the Delivery and Network teams and many other members of the Thames Water community.
- Contribute to team success by learning and demonstrating Thames Water values, and sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Carry out accurate work complying with company processes and regulatory requirements to agreed performance targets.
- Identify opportunities to change processes to improve the customer journey.
- Additionally, when required: Schedule all types of Developer Services work for our field engineers. Each job should be scheduled with our engineers effectively with the least travel time to ensure we meet our published SLAs.
Location: Hybrid - Clearwater Court, Reading.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office.
What you should bring to the role:
- Strong attention to detail with a creative and solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and maintaining service quality.
- Self-driven, resilient, and capable of achieving high-performance targets.
- Skilled in building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with CRM and ECC systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with water networks is a plus but not required.
- Proficient in IT, with solid knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
